The 20th anniversary of Operation: Rock Out Hunger is November 18th-25th at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital

Food scarcity in WNY is at record levels and every year the community comes together to help 97 Rock with Operation: Rock Out Hunger.

97 Rock is proud to partner with everyone in our community & The Upstate Automotive Group for the 20th year to help FeedMore WNY fulfill their mission in securing nutritious food for all Western New Yorkers.

DJ Dave Jickster will live on a truck to collect food and cash to benefit the FeedMore WNY, which will help our neighbors in need this holiday season! Operation: Rock Out Hunger will begin at 3pm, Tuesday, November 18th and end at 9:30am on Tuesday, November 25th in the front of the main parking lot of Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, 1540 Maple Rd, Williamsville, NY 14221.

As we continue to fight hunger in WNY, here is some info about what FeedMore WNY does and knows about the daily combat:

· FeedMore WNY is the hunger-relief nonprofit formed by the merger of The Food Bank of WNY and Meals on Wheels for WNY. FeedMore WNY provides nutritious food and support to community members of all ages throughout Erie, Niagara, Cattaraugus and Chautauqua counties.

· FeedMore WNY's mission is to offer dignity, hope and a brighter future by providing nutritious food, friendship and skills training to our WNY neighbors in need.

· The number of people in need of food assistance in WNY is growing. Last year, nearly 166,000 Western New Yorkers relied on FeedMore WNY for nutritious food and support - that's a 16 percent increase from the prior year and a nearly 50 percent increase in just three years.

·  Approximately 1 in 7 people in WNY, including 1 in 5 children, faces hunger.

· FeedMore WNY partners with nearly 400 hunger-relief agencies and programs throughout Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Erie and Niagara counties. This includes food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, group homes and schools in our food bank distribution network, as well as partner sites that make it possible for FeedMore WNY to continue our critical home-delivered meals program. FeedMore WNY also partners with community dining sites in Erie County to provide nutritious meals to mobile older community members.

· With the need for food assistance on the rise, FeedMore WNY is in need of food and fund donations, as well as volunteers, to continue our mission. People who are looking to give back can call FeedMore WNY at (716) 822-2002 or visit www.feedmorewny.org for more information.
